I love this little girl. She is sleeping in peace, because of her trust in the Lord.
But even though she is sleeping now, earlier in the day she was sitting in her soft cloud-bed praying. Yet her prayers aren't easy. Like the Psalmist, when she comes before the Lord, she trembles in His presence. And then she searches her heart in silence. Her only goal for the day is to bask in the love of God and then to share that love with the others in her tiny cloud-world. I wish I could be more like her. Too often my prayers are full of words and not enough silence. She can rest in peace because she truly trusted in the Lord. She prayed with a trembling heart and listened with an attentive ear. And so this girl and this Psalm remind me yet again that prayer and praise are more powerful than we can ever imagine. Today may you be filled with heart-searching silence that will lead you to a truly peacful slumber. Psalm 4 (NIV) Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer. How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods? Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him. Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the Lord. Many, Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us. Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety
